Explaining what Shungite is will take the entire page, reason why I created a unique page to describe in detail what is Shungite and it's healing properties. You can read all the detailed information about Shungite here.

HOW MANY TYPES OF SHUNGITE EXIST
There are three types of Shungite (for those who doesn't know) please see below:
1- TYPE I Elite Noble Shungite also known as Silver Shungite.
Type I occurs as a black, vitreous mineral with a semimetal-lic, silvery shine. it contains 98 percent organic carbon. This is the most scarce form since it amounts for only 1 percent of all shungite that it is found. It can be easily identify because of its conchoidal fractures. Ocre colored inclusions are jarosite, a basic sulfate of iron formed from the oxidation of pyrite.
Carbon Content is 98%
2- TYPE II Black Shungite
Type II occurs as a black mineral. This is the kind of shungite most often used to make objects because, unlike type I, it can be easily shaped and polished (giving it a brilliant shine). This Shungite contains 50 percent to 70 percent organic carbon.
Carbon Content 50-70%
3- TYPE III Petrosky Shungite
Type III is called approximately 70-80% carbon. Petrovsky Shungite and this is the shungite used during the time of Peter the Great. It is very rare. Even though it has a very high carbon content, it can be ground, shaped and polished into different forms such as beads and jewelry. This Shungite contains 70 percent to 80 percent organic carbon.

Please note on my website I do not sell Petrosky Shungite. I sell only Elite Noble Shungite To make water and in jewelry form and then the Type II Black Shungite. Petrosky Shungite is extremely rare to find and is not available in large quantities as with the other types of shungite. Please be very careful when purchasing "Petrosky" Shungite as it is almost impossible to distinguish from the other type of Shungite, and most sold in the market is NOT authentic Petrosky Shungite but they sell it as such, because they know people doesn't know how to recognize genuine Petrosky Shungite. There is a full catalog of products created with this Shungite. You will find them in Polished form or in it's natural rough form.
VERY IMPORTANT IF YOU WANT TO MAKE SHUNGITE WATER: Don't believe everything you read. Black Shungite contains carbon, but it is mostly made up of other elements/metals/minerals. Black Shungite may contain arsenic, or other naturally occurring toxic minerals or metals. Therefore, NEVER use Black Shungite for any form of water purification.

WHY SHOULD YOU KNOW ABOUT THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF SHUNGITE
Knowing how to identify the different types of Shungite is very important, specially if you are going to make Shungite water. To get all the benefits and get good taste/smell/clean purified water, you need to do it the RIGHT way. This is why it's important to understand and know the different types of Shungite. Also make sure you are buying REAL Genuine Shungite, this is very important. I prsonally only make my shungite water using ELITE NOBLE SHUNGITE (Type I) and that is the best type of Shungite to use to make water as it contains the highest amount of organic carbon. Make sure you are buying it from a reputable and trusted source!

WHY USING SHUNGITE FOR WATER PURIFICATION?
Shungite has been used commercially in Russia as a water purification media since the 1990s. Among the list of contaminants it may remove are: bacteria (and other microbes), nitrates, heavy metals, pesticides, volatile organics, pharmaceuticals, chlorine, and fluoride. One of the reasons shungite has the ability to neutralize contaminants is because the fullerenes within its composition can hold a tremendous amount of hydrogen.
The stone has been documented to have a high oxidative/reductive capacity. Shungite water is known for its antioxidant effects. When you place Elite Noble shungite stones in water they enrich water with fullerenes. Shungite water has powerful antioxidant properties. It is proven that digesting shungite water provides a positive therapeutic effect and helps to cope with a great number of diseases including skin related problems, chronic respiratory issues, headaches, aches in joints and muscles as well as the problems with the digestive system.

HOW MUCH SHUNGITE DO I NEED TO MAKE WATER?
As for how many you need, Russia recommends to use 100 grams per liter of water. Now, you will see that in the store you will find different sizes of Elite Noble Shungite to choose from. Some people prefer to buy the smaller pieces Elite #1 now since these Elite Shungite pieces weight in between 4-8 grams each, you will then have to use about 12 pieces per liter. Other customers prefer big chunky pieces and may use just one larger piece. It is really up to you, just remember the formula and think in terms of grams to liter. 100gr x 1 liter
So if you want to make a jar using 1 Liter you will need about 100 grams of Elite Noble Shungite, and if you want to make a gallon of water, then you will need about 300 grams of Elite. This is a recommendation and not a formula, meaning you do NOT need to buy that specific amount in order to start drinking Shungite water. Like I always say to my customers, a little is better than nothing at all, so just start with what you can and you can always add more later on.

HOW MANY PIECES OF ELITE NOBLE SHUNGITE I NEED TO MAKE WATER? AND WHAT IF I WANT TO MAKE A SMALLER BOTTLE, THEN HOW MANY DO I NEED?
I personally have a large GLASS water Jar, that can be filled with 2 gallons of water. The reason why I always have such a large jar of shungite water, is so that I can always have Shungite purified water ready to drink. Specially because the first time you make Shungite water, you need to leave the stones in water for at least 16 hours, to cleanse and purified the water. So if you do this in a small drinking jar of 8-16 ounces, then once you drink all that water, you won't have any more "ready shungite water" and will have to place the stones in water and wait another 24 hours to drink. See the convenience now of making your Shungite water in a much larger jar like the one I have?
This way, it is easier to fill small bottles of water to take with you. So get yourself a larger glass container such as the one I have that can be easily be found in Homegoods, Ross stores, wayfair, overstock, ebay or amazon. Just put on Google "lemon jar with spout" and you will see them easily;-) I personally drink from this large jarade everyday, then at night I add new water to it. This way the shungite is doing it's job during the entire night, so when I wake up is ready;-)

WHAT IS THE SIZE OF THE ELITE SHUNGITE YOU SELL? SINCE YOU SELL THEM PER PIECE, HOW BIG ARE THE PIECES?

AFTER SEEING YOUR PICTURES ON YOUR WEBSITE WITH THE BROWN DIRT FLOATING ON THE WATER, HOW LONG SHOULD I LEAVE THEM IN WATER, TO SEE IF THEY ARE GOOD OR NOT?
I always recommend for you to make Shungite water using ELITE NOBLE SHUNGITE but some people use raw Shungite, even tumbled stones. If you cannot get or afford Elite Noble Shungite then yes, you can use the other type of Shungite but if you do I want you to place the shungite stones for at least 48-72 hours inside water. If after this time you see the stones turning the water "dirty" as the picture shows above, DO NOT USE THEM to make water. Those are the low grade shungite and NOT the recommended to make or treat drinking water. Again ELITE NOBLE SHUNGITE is the best one recommended to make shungite water. NOW, this doesn't mean the stones are not good to use or you should get rid of them. Shungite is excellent for many reason and have many amazing uses. Place them around the house in any place you have electronics, such as the TV, computer, phones. Also on the kitchen next to microwaves, the fridge, and any TV's you may have as well. IS THERE ANYTHING I NEED TO DO WHEN I RECEIVE MY SHUNGITE
Yes, I always recommend for you to clean the Elite Noble Shungite you get BEFORE making water with it. Doing this is very simply, when you get your Shungite you may notice some of them may have some "brown dirt" on them, this is very normal. Please place your Elite Noble Shungite immersed in regular water. Leave them there for a few hours, then grab a "soft toothbrush" and gently brush each and every piece, while still inside the water. You will notice that with the toothbrush is very easy to remove the "brown dirt" or Earth deposits that may be adhered to the shungite.

DOES SHUNGITE TURN THE WATER ACIDIC?
One of the questions I get asked often as well is about shungite been acidic or alkaline for water.
Answer- If you talk to experts in Russia as I had, they will tell you that shungite water is acidic. The more shungite is left into water the more acidic it will become. When I asked about the shungite river in Russia been known for it's healing properties and purity of water, their answer was that this water (in the river) is flowing, contrary to water that is still in a jar or container. Hence making the water to become even more acidic. This in itself makes sense, at least to me.
However and based on test that I have done (see images of testing acidity in different water above) I have done shungite water and it has turned my water from acid to alkaline, that is what the test strips showed when tested. I believe this could be because the water I initially used BEFORE adding the elite noble shungite was extremely acid, so the shungite not only removed contaminants but helped the water to become more alkaline as well. I recommend for you to do your own testing and experiment with different waters. The important thing here is to know is that shungite water is very healthy for you.

DO YOU NEED TO DO SOMETHING TO CARE FOR YOUR SHUNGITE?
If you take proper care of your Shungite, it should last almost indefinitely. There is no risk of getting negatively charged. However, in order to keep this preparation physically clean (avoiding accumulation of nitrates, chlorine, and so forth) we advice cleaning and then purifying the stones in the sun every four to six months. If the water you use is heavily chlorinated or polluted, we recommend changing the stones every few years. But if your shungite is real and top quality the stones should pretty much last you forever. Very important to remember that Elite Noble Shungite is very fragile so one must be very gentle handling it. If you drop it, or handle it roughly, it can easily bristle and break into tinny pieces.

WHAT FLASHLIGHT ARE YOU USING TO TEST FOR SHUNGITE AUTHENTICITY?
The flashlight I'm using on my educational videos to test for Shungite authenticity is an UV Flashlight Black Light also known as Ultraviolet Blacklight, there are many different models available for purchase and these can be very affordable, you can get a good UV flashlight for about $6 here. it is very important that you purchase the right one that opens from the back so you can remove the batteries and use the Shungite stone instead to make the test. The one I have and you see in my videos I purchased from Amazon and can be found here.

WHERE CAN I FIND AN EMF METER AND WHICH ONE TO USE?
There are many different types of EMF meters available to purchase on the internet, they range from low cost basic meters, to high end professional and more advanced meters. The choice is yours depending on what meters you need and how much you want to spend.
